UK computer game retailer Game is looking into claims that one of its store managers is flogging eight Xbox 360 bundles on eBay.

The auction - which closes Tuesday evening - is for "brand new, factory sealed, Xbox 360 Premium Pack with three games".

"I have 8 units for sale, these were obtained from a store of which I am the manager, receipt will be supplied for your guarantee, just return to any branch of 'game'", said the auction details. "I am open to reasonable offers to end the auction early."

At the time of writing bids currently stand at £360.

However, with stocks of the new Xbox 360 console are already thought to be exhausted in the UK and with packs going for more than £600 a throw elsewhere on eBay, the suggestion that an employee of the retail chain is selling these on the side has angered some gamers.

But they also accept that the seller's claim they are a Game manager could be bogus, while others accept the whole auction could be a hoax or a scam.

A spokeswoman for Game said the retailer was looking into the matter. ®
