Fujitsu-Siemens is apparently gearing up to hop on the Blackberry-clone bandwagon, following Motorola's Q, Nokia's E61, HP's iPaq hw6500 series and Palm's Treo family with a keyboard-equipped smart phone of its own in Q3.
According to a report (http://www.pocketinfo.nl/artikel/5015) on Dutch-language website PocketInfo, the company's Pocket Loox T830 and T810 will ship on 3 July and 15 July, respectively. The difference between the two models: the T830 sports a two-megapixel digicam.
The smart phones also feature 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0, and can connect to GSM/GPRS and 3G networks. Like Fujitsu-Siemens' past Pocket Loox PDAs, the new handsets run Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS. There will be 128MB of ROM and 64MB of RAM on board. It's also suggested that, like HP's hw6500 smart phones, the Fujitsu-Siemens models will sport integrated GPS reception.
The site reckons the devices are due to be announced at the 3GSM conference in Barcelona next month - a fair bet, given the mobile phone industry's great and good will be gathering there to announce the year's new handsets. ®
