Nvidia last night posted record sales and net income for the fourth quarter of its 2006 fiscal year. During the three months to January 29, the company earned $98.1m (53 cents a share) on sales of $633.6m.
That amounts to a revenue increase of 11.9 per cent year on year and 8.6 per cent sequentially, from $566.5m and $583.4m, respectively. Net income rose 104.4 per cent over Q4 FY2005's $48m total and 50.2 per cent up on the $65.3m income Nvidia reported in Q3 FY2005.
Q4 FY2006's gross margin reached 40.2 per cent, up 1.1 percentage points on the previous quarter and six percentage points on the year-ago quarter.
For the full year, Nvidia recorded revenues of $2.38bn, up 18.4 per cent from FY2005's $2.01bn. Net income totalled $302.6m ($1.65 per share), up 201.2 per cent on the $100.4m (57 cents a share) Nvidia reported for FY2005. ®
