Nvidia's next-generation single-chip integrated chipsets have begun to appear on the company's roadmap, with three SKUs pitched at the upper and lower reaches of the mainstream-system, and the value-system market segments.
So claims a report (http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=1821) at DailyTech. The core's codenamed the MCP61 and will appear as the P, S and V variants. The MCP61P supports a PCI Express x16 slot, two x1 slots, five PCU slots, four 3Gbps SATA ports, two parallel ATA drive links, Gigabit Ethernet, ten USB 2.0 ports, 7.1-channel HD audio, and digital video out.
The MCP61S and MCP61V lack digital video out, have just two SATA ports and support 10/100Mbps Ethernet. The S has PCI-E x8 for an optional external graphics card, but the V is integrated-only.
It's not known what class of GPU the chipsets contain, but they are all Windows Vista Premium certified. It is claimed they will be fabbed at 90nm.
All three chips are expected to debut in August alongside Nvidia's current chipset line-up. By Christmas, however, they will have replaced the GeForce 6100, nForce 410 and nForce 430. ®
