Toshiba pegs laptop refunds on England World Cup win
Offers 66% off purchase price
4th May 2006 11:10 GMT
If England wins the 2006 World Cup, Toshiba will refund 66 per cent of the purchase price of many of its Centrino Duo-branded Satellite, Satellite Pro, Portégé, Tecra and Qosmio and notebooks, the company has announced.
You have to buy the machine first, of course, and to have done so between 27 April 2006 and 8 June 2006. You also have to register your purchase on the Toshiba UK website within seven days. Keep proof of payment - you'll need that too.
Toshiba - which is a sponsor of the soccer tournament - said the "terrific" promotion is a sign of its "confidence" in the England squad - though we're wondering whether it feels the same way after the tedious saga of Wayne Rooney's metatarsals...
UK bookmaker William Hill was today offering odds of 7:1 on an England victory, second only to Brazil, so the omens are good for coming through with a cut-price notebook.
Toshiba has all the details here. ®
