Sony's PlayStation 3 presents a user interface based on the one the company developed for the PlayStation Portable, complete with Games, Music, Movies and Photo settings - and a multi-user system, it has emerged.
A picture snapped of the PS3's UI by T3 magazine shows a more graphically impressive version of the familiar PSP UI, but nonetheless the same basic concept.

A PS3's users all have their own entry, suggesting the console's system creates separate media storage spaces, settings files and games score archives for each. The users are identified by photos, accessed using the Users menu, but presumably the system software has a selection of stock shots for new owners too.
The PS3 UI also features a Friends menu, not shown here. Alas, Sony's not saying anything yet about how the menu works or what it does, but the name suggests some kind of instant messaging or email system. ®
