First the iMac, then the iPod now the iCar, a glossy white motor produced by Mitsubishi for the Japanese market and entirely compatible with the iconic digital music player - well, with the iPod Nano, at any rate.

Yes, the central portion of the i car's dashboard features a handly horizontally aligned slot with a dock connector at the deepest point of the recess. Slot your Nano in and you're ready rock'n'roll - literally. The player is controlled through the car's built-in, hard drive-equipped satellite navigation system.

The iPod compatible version of the i is a special release dubbed the "Play Edition", Mitsubishi said today. The car's official colour is "pearl white", but it's clearly iPod inspired, and even the interior trim's shading seems reminiscent of the iPod clickwheel's grey hue.
The i's powered by a 0.66 litre, 12-valve, three-cylinder engine with a manual gearbox. It's available in either two- or four-wheel drive versions. The iPod Nano's extra, of course. ®
