Verizon has claimed the exclusive right to ship the EvDO version of Motorola's Q smart phone. According to the US carrier's online store, the would-be BlackBerry-beater will be "exclusively from Verizon Wireless".

It's no surprise that Verizon will be offering the Q, said by Motorola to be the world's thinnest smart phone. Pictures of the handheld with the carrier's logo prominently displayed leaked out onto the web earlier this month. However, it had been anticipated that Sprint would get its hands on the phone too.
Well, not according to this promotional page (http://vzwshop.com/q/?www.reghardware.co.uk) on the Verizon website, which says it's the only network that will, for now at least, offer the Q.
Alas, there's still no indication as to when the device will ship. Current speculation centres on Monday, 29 May, but there's nothing here to confirm that date or suggest it's wrong.
Motorola's pitch for the Q is that it will be the "thinnest, lightest" handset with an integrated QWERTY keypad. It measures 11.5 x 6.3 x 1.1cm and sports a 2.4in, 320 x 240, 65,536-colour job, and the handset also incorporates a 1.3 megapixel digicam with a flash. There's a Mini SD slot for memory expansion, and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. The keypad is backlit, and Motorola has built in speakerphone capability. ®
