Nvidia delays GeForce 7950 GX2 debut?
Quad SLI part's launch put back a week for Computex

Nvidia is not unveiling its anticipated GeForce 7950 GX2 graphics chip until early June and the start of the Computex trade show in Taipei, an online report citing communications made by the GPU company to its distributors has claimed.
According to a DailyTech report, Nvidia's note to channel partners states the 7950 GX2 will now launch on Tuesday, 6 June 2006. The company "officially delayed the launch date" because of "multiple requests and logistics timing with our partners", the letter claims.
The 7950 GX2 had been expected to launch on 30 May but with such an important forum as Computex coming only a week later, Nvidia's board partners undoubtedly wanted the company to launch the product there.
The new GPU will come in at the very top of Nvidia's GPU line-up. It will be pitched not only as the basis for the fastest graphics cards available but as a key Quad SLI component more powerful than the current OEM-only GeForce 7900 GX2. Unlike that part, the 7950 GX2 will be offered through retail channels as well as OEMs, the report claimed. ®
