Working dual X1600XT from GeCube

Computex 2006 GeCube joined Asus in showing a dual X1600XT at Computex, but says its card could hit the streets as soon as next month.
Reg Hardware was informed that GeCube's design (which differs to that used by Asus) means the card can actually work in CrossFire mode, something the Asus card currently can't do.
Interestingly, the GeCube card doesn't use standard DVI connectors. Instead, it has two high-density connectors into which you have to attach a dongle that should provide two DVI ports per connector. It also uses a much smaller cooling solution than Asus, which makes the GeCube card single slot. No retail price was given.
Also on display was a media player for video streaming over wired or wireless Ethernet. The design is very much in the style of a Mac mini, but in silver and white. GeCube will also offer a USB attachable hard drive in similar design.
It's a shame there's only composite TV out, as it means the picture quality won't be very good, no matter the quality of the original video. This also means that there's no HD TV compatibility. Supported playback formats include MPEG 1/2/4, DivX, XviD, WMV, MP3 and WMA. ®
