Asus this week unveiled its latest mobile phones, including a slimline slider that doubles up as a remote control unit. Operating by Bluetooth, the J208 is pitched at business folk, who can use the handset to control presentations and slideshows.
The J208 is 1.7mm thick and sports a 176 x 220, 1.9in, 262,144-colour screen and a two-megapixel digital camera. It's got 64MB of memory on board, expandable by MicroSD card. It's a music player, natch - and can send stereo signals out by Bluetooth.

The presentation system works the same way, sending out key presses and movements of the five-way navigation control out to a PC. It's the kind of technology already available on a number of devices via third-party applications like Salling Clicker (http://www.salling.com/clicker?www.reghardware.co.uk).
The 106g phone is a tri-band GSM/GPRS device. The 750mAh battery is good for up to five hours' talk time, Asus claimed, or 200-300 hours in stand-by mode.
The M310, meanwhile, is a tri-band clamshell phone. It too has a two-megapixel camera, this time with an autofocus function, flash and a five-level zoom. The handset sports a 2.2in, 320 x 240, 262,144-colour main display.

It'll synchronise with Microsoft Outlook to transfer contacts and calendar data to its 35MB of memory. The 950mAh battery delivers up to five hours' talk time or 250 hours' in stand-by mode, Asus said.
Pricing and availability have yet to be announced. ®
