Intel has allegedly put back the shipment of its 'Conroe' Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme processors by a whopping four days, Taiwanese motherboard-maker sources have claimed. How will the chip giant's fanboys cope?
No reason was given for the short delay in the DigiTimes story (http://www.digitimes.com/bits_chips/a20060629A2007.html?www.reghardware.co.uk) revealing the allegation. If true, the launch will move from a Sunday to a Thursday.
The E6300, E6400, E6600, E6700 and X6800 CPUs will be accompanied by G965 and Q963 chipsets, the moles claim after peeking at Intel's roadmap. The chip maker will release the Q965 on 7 September, they add, a week after it ships the 3.46GHz Celeron D 360.
Q4 will see the arrival of the 1.6GHz, 2MB L2, 800MHz FSB Core 2 Duo E4200 and a pair of chipsets, the 946GZ and the 946PL, the report states. ®
