Intel's pricing plan for 'Merom', its next-generation architecture mobile Core 2 Duo processor, has leaked out ahead of the chip family's debut - now apparently scheduled for 23 July.
According to a Week 28 roadmap update slide posted by Chinese-language site HKEPC, the two 2MB L2 Core 2 Duos - the T5500 and T5600 - will cost $209 and $241, respectively. As usual, that's the price per chip when the products are ordered in batches of 1,000 CPUs.
The 4MB L2 versions, the T7200, T7400 and T7600, will cost, respectively, $294, $423 and $637, according to the slide. In order, they're clocked at 2, 2.16 and 2.33GHz. The 5500 and 5600 run at 1.66GHz and 1.8GHz, respectively. All the Meroms operate on a 667MHz frontside bus. ®
Finally, the slide lists the launch day as 23 July. ®
