Smart phone company i-mate has announced its versions of HTC's TyTN and MTeoR handsets even as the manufacturer, which is now selling its products under its own name, announced record financial results.
i-mate's versions of the TyTN and the MTeoR are called the JASJAM and SP JAS, respectively. Both are 3G devices and support HSDPA technology - often called '3G broadband' - for faster downloads. The two devices both contain 64MB of RAM and 128MB of Flash ROM, run Windows Mobile 5.0 and support Bluetooth. They also incorporate GSM/GPRS/EDGE support - tri-band in the SP JAS' case, though the JASJAM is a quad-band device. The JASJAM can also connect to 802.11b/g wireless networks.

The JASJAM sports a 2.8in, 65,536-colour, 240 x 320 display and a two megapixel camera. The SP JAS has a 1.3 megapixel camera and a 2.2in screen, also 240 x 320 and capable of showing 65,536 colours. Both devices have a Micro SD card slot.
i-mate said the JASJAM will retail for $888 (£470/€696), while the SP JAS will cost buyers $544 (£288/€426).
Separately, HTC said its Q2 FY2006 sales topped TWD25.99bn ($791.89m), up 8.2 per cent on Q1's TWD24.01bn ($731.56m). Income for the period came to TWD8.48bn ($258.38m), 20.6 per cent up on the TWD7.03bn ($214.2m) HTC recorded for Q1. ®
