Catalyst patched for Windows, Linux
21st September 2006 08:47 GMT
ATI has posted the latest incarnation of its Catalyst driver package for Windows and Linux, and with it official confirmation that CrossFire now works on Intel's P965 chipset - for Windows systems at least.
Other tweaks include better 3DMark 06 anti-aliasing performance on the Radeon X1300, X1600 and X1900 GPUs, with the biggest improvements coming in CrossFire set-ups running at 1,280 x 1,024 resolution or higher. Doom 3 performance is up too across the Radeon X1000 range.
Numerous glitches with ATI's own apps and third-party software have been fixed too, though ATI admitted that issues remain.
ATI didn't say much about the Linux update: essentially, it's about adding support for Linux Kernel 2.6.18.
Full release notes and the driver download links can be found on ATI's website. ®
