Sony has hopped on the Casino Royale bandwagon to offer budding Bonds their very own Vaio "Spy Gear" bundle comprising a Vaio TX notebook, Cyber-Shot DSC-T50 camera, a laptop screen-privacy filter and an 007-branded aluminium attache case to put 'em all in.
The laptop contains a not very Q-tastic Intel Core Solo ultra-low voltage processor clocked to a mere 1.2GHz, but at least incorporates not only Wi-Fi wireless connectivity but also a link to Sprint's Mobile Broadband cellular service. It's got Bluetooth too, 2GB of 533MHz DDR 2, an 80GB hard drive and an DVD multi-writer.
The Vaio's screen is an 11.1in, 1,366 x 768 Xbrite job driven by the latop's 945GMS chipset-integrated graphics. It'll look a little less bright with the privacy filter in the way - and unreadable by anyone sittting next to you.
The DSC-T50 is Sony's slimline 7.2 megapixel model with a 3x optical zoom and a touch-sensitive 3in LCD viewfinder.
Both devices slot into the custom-cut foam inlay in the attache case. Sony's also including a glass-encased "photo certificate" embossed with your new machine's serial number. There's also an "exclusive welcome letter", presumably commending your decision to join Her Majesty's Secret Service.
Just make sure you don't leave your notebook in a taxi/bar/den of iniquity as no few members of the British military and secret services appear to have done over the years...
