ISP bundles £500 PC with broadband packages
LG flat-panel monitor too

Pssst! Want a free PC? Then have a word with UK ISP Redten. It's offering customers who take up its £20-a-month 8Mbps 'unlimited' ADSL broadband package a gratis desktop computer and monitor together worth £500.
At that kind of price, you wouldn't expect a top-of-range specification and you're not going to get one. Still, it's not a bad package. Redten's PC is based on a 3GHz Pentium 4 531 processor, 512MB of DDR 2 memory, and a 160GB UltraATA-133 hard drive. Graphics are provided by the 945GZ chipset's integrated GPU - fine for the basics, but don't expect to run the latest 3D games on it, at least not smoothly. There's an 18x DVD writer on board too.

To that, Redten's adding a 17in LCD from LG, with the promised of a 19in display for the first 10,000 punters to take up its offer. The PC also ships with a keyboard, mouse and a pair of speakers. The whole lot's covered by a three-year back-to-base warranty.
The PC package is available now from Redten. ®
