Well, they did it. The crazy guys who last week spent CAD550 on a brand new Sony PlayStation 3 only to smash it to bits (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/11/20/canadians_smash_ps3/) with a sledgehammer right outside the store have made good on their pledge to do exactly the same with a Nintendo Wii.

Victor Moukhortov and pal Ben Lovatt dressed up as Mario and Luigi, popped into Futureshop in Toronto, bought a Wii and beat the living bejaysus out of it on the pavement outside. Performance art? Consumer empowerment? Just plain insanity? You decide... ®
