At a mere ¥5,980 ($52/£27/€40), it wouldn't be too hard to snap up a stack of these Japanese gold ingot-styled eight-port USB hubs to re-create that robbing the Bank of England and/or Fort Knox experience in your own living room. The manufacturer's smartly weighed each block down with enough metal to yield a gold-like weight of 2.4kg. Alas, the supplier's also keen to point out there's no "genuine gold" within the product.
The 19.6 x 7.3 x 4.9cm mock ingot is due to ship early next month. Full details from supplier Thanko, here (http://www.thanko.jp/goldhub?www.reghardware.co.uk). ®
