No mere iPod-enabled hi-fi system, iSymphony's M2UK, announced today, is the foundation for a full home entertainment system, the company claimed. All you need to add is a TV - iSymphony's box does all the rest, though you'll want to bring an iPod to the party, of course.

The M2UK comprises an 2 x 25W amplifier unit that feeds a pair of wooden speakers, each with a 25mm tweeter and a 100mm woofer. The central unit includes not only an FM/AM radio with 20 station pre-sets per band, but also an alarm clock and a progressive-scan DVD player that's DiVX and MPEG 4 compatible.
There's a universal iPod dock on the top ready for all the latest Apple music players, and the system also has a USB port to allow it to access music on other Flash-based players and memory keys. The M2UK has a 14-in-one memory card reader so it can play songs and video stored on MMC, SD, MemoryStick and more.
The unit hooks up to a TV for DVD playback, but it'll handily feed video content and photos from your iPod onto the larger screen.
The M2UK goes on sale over here mid-December for around £180. It will be sold through John Lewis and Comet stores. It's currently on sale in the US as the M2, for $300. ®
