Apple blocks Mac OS X security holes

Patch posted

Apple has posted a Mac OS X Security Update that patches almost two dozen holes in the Unix-based operating system. The update incorporates fixes for AirPort, Apple Type Services, Finder, Installer, Security Framework, VPN and a raft of other, under-the-hood apps and utilities.

However, the fix doesn't appear to patch the recently exposed vulnerability (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2006/11/22/mac_zero_day_bug/) in Mac OS X's Disk Image handling code.

The updates, for client and server versions of Mac OS X, and for PowerPC- and Intel-oriented releases of the operating system, are available from Apple's Support site here (http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/?www.reghardware.co.uk), or via the OS' own Software Update utility.

Full details of the fixes are presented here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304829&www.reghardware.co.uk). ®
