Amazon.com's collection and analysis of what its customers buy yield some curious connections. Who would have imagined, for instance, that US Mac users, well known for how seriously they support their favoured computing platform, are equally keen on England's most famous brand of yeast extract.
How else to explain Amazon's offer of a 12-pot pack of Marmite with a copy of Apple's .Mac online service? The online store clearly believes the Mac-friendly services and software suite is "better together" with the dark brown sandwich topper.

We can see .Mac's mix of web tools, email and a stack of handy software utilities as a tasty treat for any Apple fan, but we find Marmite - once advertised over here with a 'you'll love it or hate it' campaign - rather less palatable.
Similar savoury sauces - Britain's Bovril and Australia's iconic Vegemite - aren't on offer on Amazon.com's grocery pages, so there's no way to see which computing platforms their respective fans favour. ®
