Greenpeace: Apple still needs to green up its act
Stamping all over Jobs' carbon footprint

Greenpeace Netherlands targeted Apple shops in Amsterdam on Saturday with flyers claiming the company has made absolutely no improvements to its environmental policies or practices.
The green pressure group started an Apple campaign in September, complete with Apple-style page design and Mac vs PC ad.
Last week Greenpeace issued its latest Green Electronics Guide, which ranks leading mobile and PC manufacturers on their global policies and practice on eliminating harmful chemicals and on taking responsibility for their products once they are discarded by consumers.
Nokia earned the highest ranking, although the company needs a timeline for PVC phase out. Dell loses points for not having models free of the worst chemicals. Sony got a lower ranking for inconsistent takeback policies. But Apple has "low scores on almost all criteria and (shows) no progress".
Although Acer and Lenovo have indicated plans to eliminate the use of the most hazardous chemicals from products, Apple is losing the race by failing to keep up with the other companies, Greenpeace says.®
