Samsung has launched a digital camera that's as much a portable media player as it is a picture taker. Dubbed the i7, the snapper has a screen that can rotate to choose which of the device's features you want. It'll even double up as a guide book for your travels.

The i7 has a seven megapixel image sensor with 3x optical zoom lens. Its sensitivity stretches to ISO 1600 and the now standard anti-shake system is on board too. As is face recognition.

Round the back is a 3in screen. Turn it through a right angle and the i7 flips from camera mode to become a PMP. Rotate it through a further 90° and it's an MP3 player.

The gimmicks don't stop there: the i7 has integrated internet access, used to keep the device's travel guide facility up to date. The camera has 450MB of memory for pictures, music, videos and the guide's take on "4,500 regions in 30 countries".

All this will set you back £250, Samsung said, when the i7 ships in March.
