It's no great surprise to anyone that Nvidia's preparing a chipset that will work with AMD's upcoming HyperTransport 3 processors and Socket AM2+ bus, but according to the latest leak the part's codenamed MCP72 and it's a single-chip part.
According to a Dailytech report (http://www.dailytech.com/NVIDIA+MCP72+Details+Unveiled/article6021.htm?www.reghardware.co.uk), the third key feature is PCI Express 2.0 support - again, that won't shock anyone, PCIe 2.0 having been formally released to hardware vendors last month (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/01/15/pci_sig_releases_pcie_2/).
AM2+ is due to debut in Q3 with the K8L generation of Athlons and Semprons, codenamed 'Agena', 'Kuma', 'Rana' and 'Spica', it's said. That provides the most likely timeframe for MCP72's arrival.
