Sony has launched a super-slim Walkman video MP3 player that's less than 1cm thick. The NW-A800 series features a 2in colour LCD screen and supports the widely-used MPEG 4 video format.

Sony claims the player also boasts a battery life of up to 30 hours for music and eight hours video playback. Music and videos can also be uploaded from a CD collection or purchased via Sony Connect music download store. You can also store and share your JPEG photos with clever slideshow functions. Downloading video content is done with a simple drag and drop procedure.
In addition to this, Sony has announced the launch of the Walkman NW-E010 series of digital music players. Available in black and pink, this range of compact Flash MP3 players charges from your PC through USB and features a quick charge-up function where, apparently, three minutes' charging delivers three hours' music playback, with a full hour's charge providing up to 30 hours of your favourite tunes.

The Sony Walkman Video MP3 NW-A800 range is available from April, the Sony NW-E010 series is available from May. Pricing is as follows: NW-A805 (2GB)-£119, NW-A806 (4GB)-£149, NW-A808 (8GB)-£199 and E010, 1GB-£60, 1GB plus tuner-£65 (black only), 2GB-£70, 2GB plus tuner-£80 (black only).
