Intel's Core 2 Duo-derived Pentium E2000 series will debut on 3 June, it has been claimed. So too will the Celeron 400 series, the Core 2-based budget processor line.
Expect two Pentium Es, says (http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/news.php?tid=754751) Chinese-language site HKEPC: the 1.6GHz E2140 and the 1.8GHz E2160. Both contain 1MB of L2 cache and sit on an 800MHz frontside bus. The report, citing Taiwanese sources reputed to have seen Intel's latest roadmap, reckons the two CPUs will be priced at $74 and $84, respectively, when bought in batches of 1000 units.
The two chips will replace the current Pentium D 925 and 935, both of which will have their prices cut next month to where the new CPUs will come in.
Expect two Celeron 400s on 3 June too: the 1.8GHz 430 and the 2GHz 440, both with 512KB of L2 and support for an 800MHz FSB.
It's anticipated Intel will launch the 2.13GHz Core 2 Duo E6420, the 1.86GHz E6320 and the 2GHz E4400 in Q2, though whether they'll debut on 3 June too isn't known. The 4400 runs on an 800MHz FSB and has 2MB of L2 cache. The E6420 and E6320 both have 4MB of cache and operate on an 1066MHz bus.
