Orange will be bringing Samsung's Windows Mobile-based BlackBerry-like i600 smart phone to the UK and France, the carrier's website has revealed. It'll arrive toward the end of this month, others have claimed.
Orange UK hasn't formally announced the i600, and the handset's not yet listed on the network's Coming Soon page, but its webpage is live nonetheless - it was spotted (http://www.coolsmartphone.com/news3164.html) by a reader of phone fansite Coolsmartphone.com - suggesting the launch is imminent. The carrier announced its upcoming own-brand SPV E650 (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/04/11/orange_unveils_spv_e650/) yesterday.
The page confirms the device's specifications: 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, QWERTY microkeyboard, 320 x 240 display, Micro SD card storage, 1.3 megapixel camera with 2x digital zoom, and a 0.3 megapixel camera for video calling.
Orange will offer the i600 to both pay-as-you-go and contract customers. The question, though, is when? The handset has also turned up on Orange's French website where's it down as coming at end of April.
