Shuttle debuts firey hued, liquid cooled gaming PC
Dual-core CPU, twin GPUs

Small form-factor PC specialist Shuttle has introduced its first liquid-cooled system, launching the flame-coloured performance box in Japan as the limited edition SDXi 1337 series.

Beyond the custom paint job, the SDXi look like Shuttle's XPC small form-factor machines - it's the SD37P2, to be precise. Inside, it's got a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo E6600 processor on an Intel 975X chipset, 2GB of Crucial Ballistix performance-oriented DDR 2 memory, a 150GB 10,000rpm Western Digital Raptor hard drive and a pair of AMD ATI Radeon X1950 Pro graphics cards in co-operative CrossFire mode.
The on-board water cooling system is as much about getting all this hot-running chippery running smoothly and quietly in the compact casing as is about making overclocking easier, but Shuttle indicated the SDXi includes software tools to tweaks settings to drive the performance upward.

The unit also sports eight USB 2.0 ports, a pair of Firewire connectors and an eSATA port for hooking up external devices. There's Gigabit Ethernet for networking, and the usual array of analogue and digital audio sockets.

The whole shebang retails for ¥299,800 ($2,513/£1,279/€1,879) for a machine without an operating system, rising to ¥316,600 ($2,654/£1,351/€1,985) if you buy it with Windows Vista Home Premium.
