Launch tomorrow, apparently
16th April 2007 10:37 GMT
Graphics card maker PNY has confirmed that Nvidia is about to launch the GeForce 8600 GT graphics chip, pledging today to ship a card based on the not-yet-official GPU tomorrow.
PNY's board, dubbed the 8600GTS, packs on 256MB of GDDR 3 memory. The company didn't provde any other details about the product, which it will be offering through the UK's chain of PC World stores.
The card goes on sale tomorrow, 17 April. PNY didn't explicitly say that's the day on which Nvidia will launch its new GPU, but it did say the "graphics card will be immediately available to consumers from the date of launch of the product by Nvidia". So the cat's pretty much out of the bag.
