Nvidia targets Turion with AMD-oriented IGPs

Nvidia today launched three GeForce 7-class single-chip integrated chipsets, all of them aimed at AMD-based notebooks, Turion 64 X2-equipped machines in particular.
Branded the GeForce 7000M, 7150M and 7190M, the GPUs are integrated into a single package that also contains, respectively, the nForce 610M, 630M and 640M southbridges. The three chipsets deliver 40 per cent more performance than their predecessors, Nvidia claimed, while increasing the system's battery life by 13 per cent.
The GPUs support DirectX 9 Shader Model 3 and can drive a range of digital displays, including screens connected by HDMI - so HDCP is part of of package too. Nvidia claimed the GPUs are the only integrated graphics engines with built-in video processors capable of decoding H.264 video at 720p resolution. All three, it said, are Windows Vista Premium ready.
The chipsets support Gigabit Ethernet, up to four 1x PCI Express lanes, up to four SATA drives, parallel ATA peripherals and Trusted Platform Modules.
