AMD desktop price cuts due next month

AMD has apparently told its product distributors to expect a round of price cuts early next month. The reductions, said to centre on the chip maker's desktop product lines, will see on average 20 per cent knocked off what it charges for dual-core CPUs.
According to an AMD channel-oriented email quoted by fansite AMD Zone, the price cuts are due on Monday, 9 July.
The 20 per cent reduction applies to the Athlon 64 X2 line - the single-core Athlon 64 series members will see their prices fall by around 15 per cent, as will Sempron processors, the email is said to state.
AMD last adjusted its public price list on 23 April.
