TerraTec docks iPod to internet radio box
8th June 2007 10:50 GMT
TerraTec has extended its Noxon internet radio line with a new model that has an iPod dock and can grab and play Mac- and PC-hosted music collections.
TerraTec's Noxon 2: now iPod friendly
The Noxon 2 has 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and 100Mbps Ethernet - handy for folk with powerline networks - to connect to thousands of internet radio stations through your broadband connection. The device is also UPnP (Universal Plug'n'Play) capable, allowing it to connect to PCs and Macs - TerraTec bundles UPnP software for both platforms - and retrieve MP3, AAC+, WMA, WMA DRM and Ogg tracks.
It's even got a USB port for songs stored on Flash drives and external HDDs. It's an FM radio too.
The unit incorporates its own pair of 4W, 1.5in speakers and a 10W, 3in sub-woofer, but you can also hook it up to a hi-fi courtesy of RCA jacks, a headphone socket or its optical digital S/P-DIF port.
TerraTec's Noxon: access 10,000 net radio stations
The Noxon comes with its own remote control and it replicates the iPod display on its own, bigger LCD for easier track selection at a distance.
The Noxon 2 Radio for iPod is set to go on sale at the end of the month for £250.
