Manufacturer Diamond Multimedia is billing it as "the world's fastest graphics card" and while Nvidia fans may dispute that claim, there's no doubt the Viper HD2900XT is the first board to couple AMD's ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT chip with 1GB of GDDR 4 memory.

Diamond Multimedia's Viper HD2900XT: the world's fastest graphics card?
The card's core - which packs in 320 of AMD's DirectX 10-ready unified shader processors - is clocked to 743MHz, while 512-bit bus connected memory runs at 1100MHz, Diamond said. The product is CrossFire compatible.
The card has a pair of dual-lin DVI ports and an s-video TV-out port. Diamond's bundling a DVI-to-HDMI adaptor and a component-video adaptor, among others.
Diamond said the card would be offered through ten North American system builders and suppliers, but none of those we checked had the card in stock yet, and not all were even listing the part. Expect to pay around $650 for the card.
