Evesham re-packs e-box for HD era
12th July 2007 16:14 GMT
Evesham has given its 'black box' e-box Windows Media Center system a technology face-lift with the addition of hi-def its multimedia capabilities. That means a single HDMI port for connecting it up to an HDTV. Nope, there's no HD optical disc support.

Is it a PC? Is it a DVD player?
The e-box HD is a home entertainment system that incorporates a PC, TV, DVD player in a single unit. Operating on Windows Vista Home Premium, the e-box HD has a dual-core 2.6GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ CPU under its hood backed by 1GB of DDR 2 memory and a whopping 320GB HDD as standard. A multi-format Sony DVD burner is also included, along with a pair of Freeview-ready digital TV tuners - record one channel while watching another - and an AMD ATI Radeon X1250 graphics core to handle the picture.
Two USB ports are located on the system's front panel - Firewire and analogue audio too.
The e-box measures 34 x 28.8 x 9.8cm. Evesham's bundling it with a Logitech Internet Pro wireless keyboard and mouse, along with the onbligatory Media Center remote control.
The Evesham e-box HD is available now with prices kicking off at £700(€1031/$1420).
