Apple's online AppleStore - it's US incarnation, at least - has temporarily shut its doors to customers pending an update. This typically happens when the Mac maker's just about to announce new products.
As we wrote earlier, it's unlikely to be a new, smaller, cheaper iPhone (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/07/17/iphone_rumour_points_to_ipod/), but in this business you never say never.
The most likely change will be the debut of the anticipated new aluminium iMac enclosure, rumoured to be due mid-July to mid-August (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/07/09/2in-thick_imac_in_august/).
But we shouldn't rule out the possibility of the appearance of the ultra-slim, potentially Flash-based MacBook Pro (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/07/11/apple_skinny_lappy/), though most moles appear to maintain is due to debut later this year.
Whatever Apple has up its corporate sleeve, Register Hardware will bring you the details as soon as they emerge.
