Sainsbury's to hold Medion notebook launch

Ask most people where to go for the launch of a 17in dual-core notebook and we're pretty certain that most wouldn't pick supermarket chain Sainsbury's. But this is where Medion has chosen to unveil its MD96327 laptop later this month.

One of the MD96327's main features has to be its 17in 1440 x 900 (WXGA) display. It also combines a 1.6GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core CPU with a 160GB hard drive and 2GB of DDR 2 memory.
An AMD ATI Mobility Radeon Xpress 1100 chipset is built in, fitted with with 256MB of graphics memory, and the laptop's multi-format DVD writer is sure to appeal to anyone peering at it from behind the fruit and veg.
While the MD96327 does weigh a slightly hefty 3.5kg and measures 28 x 39 x 3cm, it packs in wireless networking, and a nifty USB mouse and carry bag are also worthwhile added extras. It also has four USB ports.
The Medion laptop is bundled with Windows Vista Premium and also comes with Nero disc burning software.
The MD96327 is due to be wheeled-out across Sainsbury's stores later this month for £500 (€741), which is sure to bring a nice boost onto your Nectar card.
