HTC rumours hot upHTC doesn't seem to be running short of ideas for smart phone concepts. It's rumoured the manufacturer has developed a new touchscreen handset and that it could also be working on a separate slider smartphone. Internet reports have it that the HTC P6550 Sedna will have a 3.5in QVGA touchscreen and come equipped with a 3-megapixel camera, in addition to HSDPA connectivity. Security conscious smart phone addicts will also be pleased, because the handset is also rumoured to have a built-in nfingerprint reader.
The Sedna could be based on a Qualcomm chipset with 128MB memory and ship with a 1GB storage capacity, in an addition to a memory card slot. It could also hold its weight on the connectivity front, with rumours suggesting that Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and a miniUSB port will all be present. Pictures have also begun circulating online of a separate slider handset, possibly called the HTC P5500 Nike, although a tie-up with the sportswear company is pure speculation. Related stories
The Nike handset is thought to have a 2-megapixel camera, GPS, and a 2.6in screen, which some reports have said could also be a touchscreen. The handset's dimensions, possibly just based on the average size of existing HTC handsets, are said to be around 10.6 x 5.3 x 1.5cm. No release date is known for the HTC Sedna, but reports say if the Nike phone does exist then it's coming out next month. Keep your eyes peeled.
