First two AMD 'Barcelonas' due 10 September?
A third coming the following month, apparently

AMD's first 'Barcelona' processors - a pair of chips for two-slot machines - will appear on 10 September, it has been alleged by server-maker sources. A further chip will be launched in October, they say.
There's no word from AMD, but insiders cited by DigiTimes have named the two Barcelonas as the 1.9GHz Opteron 2348 and the 2.0GHz Opteron 2350. The 2.2GHz 2354 will follow a month or so later, the moles maintained, with the 2.1GHz 2352, 2.3GHz 2356, 2.4GHz 2358 and the 2.5GHz 2360 coming in due course.
The 2348 to 2356 are said to have a TDP of 95W, while the 2358 and 2360 consume up to 120W of power.
No price was claimed for the 2360, but the rest were said to be set to cost $320, $390, $450, $610, $795 and $1180, going up the line. Prices are per processor when sold in batches of 1000 CPUs.
The sources said AMD also has five four-way Opteron 83xx processors in the pipeline priced at $790-1550, but they had no word on clock speed - we'd say they're likely to match the 23xx chips' frequencies - power consumption or launch date.
AMD last week speed-bumped its existing Opteron 22xx line to 3.2GHz.
