Crysis demo delayed

Crytek has put back the release of the demo version of Crysis, the eagerly anticipated PC-based first-person shooter that DirectX 10 graphics cards owners are all keen to try.

Originally due to be posted online on 25 September, the Crysis demo will now appear over a month later, on 26 October.

The reason? According to Crytek, to allow it to get the full version of the game out on schedule. Right now, it's down to hit shop shelves on 16 November.

There's some compensation for disappointed downloaders, however. Crytek said the demo would now come with Sandbox 2, its game editing app.

Crysis has been drawing the attention of PC gamers not only because it's the follow up to Crytek's hugely popular Far Cry but also because it's set to be one of the first games written for Microsoft's DirectX 10 Windows games foundation.
