Gamers seeking what could be the ultimate accessory - at least that's how it's branded - can now save themselves hefty transatlantic shipping costs: US company Ultimate Game Chair's Renegade seat is now available from a UK supplier.
The Renegade is designed to be connected to any of the major gaming platforms, from PCs to consoles, which feed its headrest-mounted stereo speakers and trigger the under-seat, "ground effect" lighting.
UGC's Renegade: feel every kick?
The chair also incorporates 12 vibration motors, all synchronised with in-game action, to give players that 'I'm actually here' feeling. How that tallies with UGC's promised "maximum gaming comfort", we're not sure - after all, being hit with a Pfhor power-staff or a Strogg energy bolt is not meant to be a comfortable experience...
Whatever, the Renegade costs $299 in the States, to which European buyers have to add upwards of $400 just to have it shipped direct from the manufacturer.
No longer: UK online retailer The Gaming Collection now has the Renegade in stock, and the chair can be yours for just £225, it said this week. Delivery is "guaranteed well in time for Christmas", the company pledged.
The Gaming Collection is linked to satellite TV hardware supplier Digital Sales UK, the local site previously offering UGC's Raptor chair over here.
