UK carrier Orange has brought what's claimed to be the world's first Bluetooth headset that draws its power from the sun.

Iqua's Sun: solar powered

First unveiled at the 3GSM event, held in Barcelona earlier this year, the Iqua Sun headset looks like most other headsets on the market - well, apart from the unit's solar panel.

So don't keep it under your hat - literally.

The 14g accesory gives around nine hours of talk time and 200 hours of stand-by operation, Iqua claims. It's also compatible with a range of handsets - including, of course, the iPhone.

Iqua's headset is available exclusively from Orange until February, after which it’ll presumably be sold by every retailer under the sun. Orange is offering the device for £50 (€75/$100).

You could even twin the headset up with a solar-powered mobile phone, unveiled by Chinese manufacturer HiTech Wealth in June this year.
