AMD DisplayPort graphics card spied on web
Would-be HDMI killer arrives

AMD's anticipated DisplayPort-supporting graphics chip, 'RV635', has appeared on the web on a card that sports said next-gen digital monitor connector, along with HDMI and DVI portage.
The card was obtained and snapped by HotHardware.com, which describes it as an RV635 XT. As we've noted before, AMD's decision to drop such suffixes as 'XT' and 'Pro' from the recently released ATI Radeon HD 3800 series suggests the RV635-based line won't use them either.

RV635 is expected to debut early next year as the Radeon HD 3600 series. It'll be accompanied by the Radeon HD 3400 line, based on the 'RV620' GPU.
Both families will support DirectX 10.1 and Shader Model 4.1, due to debut early next year with the long-awaited first Service Pack for Windows Vista.
The latest report doesn't include speeds, but the RV635 XT has been said in the past to be clocked at 800MHz. An RV635 Pro is expected to, clocked at 600MHz. Both GPUs will connect to memory across a 128-bit bus, but while the Pro will appear on cards containing at least 512MB of GDDR 2 memory, XT-based cards will have 256MB of GDDR 3. As yet, memory clock speeds are not known.
