Orange has become the latest company to suffer from Christmas confusion (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2007/12/07/nokia_6263_for_tmobile/), developing amnesia about which handsets it’s actually selling.
Orange's E610: how it appears in the carrier's catalogue

The SPV E610 smartphone, which looks rather a lot like a rebranded Amoi 6711, appears in Orange’s December in-store magazine with a £100 pay-as-you-go purchase price. However, when Register Hardware contacted Orange’s customer service telephone line to find out what date the handset is available from, staff knew nothing about it.
An Orange spokesman told us that either the phone could be scheduled to appear in 2008, although exactly when is anyone’s guess. Or the phone may have failed Orange’s quality testing since it appeared in the magazine, throwing the handset’s entire appearance on Orange’s network into doubt.
In any case, Orange’s limited magazine profile of the phone does state it has a two-megapixel camera, a talk time of around four hours, and seven days of standby life. However, if it’s truly the Amoi 6711 then users can also expect it run on Windows Mobile 6 Standard, has GSM/GPRS/Edge connectivity and be equipped with a Micro SD card slot.
