GorillaPod guys slide out boom-equipped Bluetooth headsetCES Here's Zivio, the upcoming Bluetooth headset from Joby, the company that brought you to GorillaPod bendy holder-cum-tripod for digicam's. It not only looks swish, but it's light, compact and incorporates a novel pull-out microphone boom.
Joby's Zivio: slide out mic boom The boom's positively wire-thin, but it's rigid enough to stay in place and – hopefully – withstand being repeatedly slid in and out. Joby reckons the boom, and the highly sensitive microphone at the end of it, make for far better call quality than you'll get out of many a headset. The 13g, 53.5 x 15 x 7.2mm body sports a two-tone colour scheme: chrome-like metal on the back and a choice of colours for the front panel. The Zivio will come with an array of attachments for the in-ear speaker pod. ![]() It's a nice looking item, and Joby promises it won't come with a continuously flashing blue light. Related stories
The battery life's ten hours talking, 200 hours on standby, Joby claimed. It charges via a computer's USB port. The Zivio is due to go on sale in the Spring, though the price has yet to be set. Related Review
