If these are compatible with existing Pentax 35mm body lenses, then I'm laughing. I'm not going to tell you why, you'll hate me with a hatred beyond understanding. :) Re: CompatibleDavid Gosnell • Thursday 24th January 2008 10:07 GMT
I guess because you've got previously worthless glass you can now flog on eBay... re compatibleSam • Thursday 24th January 2008 11:42 GMT
Weeelll. it's just that the last K series was compatible with 35mm Pentax lens fittings, and they'll be cheaper now.. My other half went into a charity shop a while ago, and after a brief phone call came home with the following; Pentax ME super body and case, along with service history, and ( the interesting bit), the following lenses; Pentax A 50mm F1.7 SMC series (the good one), and a Pentax SMC A70-200 zoom, all in original boxes with original packing and manuals, caps, etc. So if these fit the dslr , it's a result. You want to know how much she paid, don't you? 35 Quid the lot. Why can I hear screaming? The Nomex flameproofs, ta.. CompatibleAnonymous Coward • Thursday 24th January 2008 12:41 GMT
All of Pentax DSLRs (and Samsung versions) can use any PK fitting lens and via an adaptor M42 lenses - lenses without "A" position have to be manually metered though if needed more information/help can be found in http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1036 Pentax Glass sells quite well on ebay - though how much that will change as the new stuff starts becoming available ThanksSam • Thursday 24th January 2008 13:13 GMT
Thanks for the info..I was thinking more of getting a dslr body than flogging those lenses. Re: CompatibleAnonymous Coward • Thursday 24th January 2008 14:29 GMT
I have an ME Super and a Pentax 50 mm F1.4 SMC lens; do I win? Re SMC LensJohn Miles • Thursday 24th January 2008 14:35 GMT
Sounds a good find There are a lot of people very happy with old lens on Pentax Bodies - you might want to look on the Pentax SLR forum on dpreview (search for green button as that is usually involved in a thread on old lens) as there are setting modes needed and a couple of limitations to be understood. remember the 50mm lens will give same view as a 75mm on 35mm body Re re compatibleSam • Thursday 24th January 2008 16:04 GMT
No, I've got a zoom as well, so ner! ;) Joking aside, the Pentax site says broadly "any Pentax lens will fit any Pentax camera".....yes, I know there are limitations, but who the hell else can say that??? So any Pentax old school 35mm aficionado can make the leap and use all their existing glass? That is one hell of a selling point! My first 35mm was a Zenith...we were poor but happy...like fuck, was I! The period for commenting on this story has finished |
