If you feel the need to beam your holiday photos onto a wall but are held back by power cables and heavy projectors, then Samsung may have the answer. It’s developed a portable projector that plugs directly into a mobile phone.

Dubbed the MBP-100, Samsung’s projector can display still images and video at an effective 20in, whilst allowing for manual refocusing. However, the unit measures 70 x 70 x 30mm, meaning it would look bulky beside 3M’s cockroach-sized LED-illuminated projection engine (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/01/08/3m_projector/).
The MBP-100’s battery lasts for up to three hours.
Samsung will initially ship the MBP-100 to Korea next month, but it hasn’t said how much the unit will cost or when it’ll ship to Europe. So, in the meantime, you’ll have to make do by making rabbit ears on a blank wall with your traditional projector.
