UK PC supplier Mesh has jumped the gun on AMD's official announcement and begun offering desktops based on the chip maker's three-core Phenom 8000-series processors.
Mesh is currently listing a pair of tri-core systems on its website, one based on the 2.1GHz, 2MB L3 Phenom 8400, the other on the 2.3GHz, 2MB L3 8600.
The 8600-based Mesh xXx Pro is priced at £599 with 2GB of 667MHz DDR 2, a 512MB ATI Radeon HD 3650 graphics card, a 500GB 1.5Gb/s SATA hard drive and a dual-layer DVD writer. It comes with a 22in monitor.

Mesh's xXx Pro: now with triple-core
The 8400-based Mesh xXx Plus comes with a 19in monitor and relies on the unnamed chipset's integrated graphics, but it's £100 cheaper than the Pro. Other specs are the same.
Mesh said its triple-core machines will go on sale on 1 March. Full system details can be found here.
AMD is expected to release further three-core Phenoms in May: the 2.1GHz 8450 and the 2.4GHz 8750, both based on a more recent version of the chips' core.
