Comments on: Yes! It's the vacuum cleaner mouse!

Why?

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 16:59 GMT

Why on earth would anyone want to clean their mouse mat while they work?

looks pretty normal?

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 17:03 GMT

IT Angle

To me it looks more like something out of a 1950's Sci Fi or the like. Danger Mr. Robinson, etc.... But do tell us: does it *really* suck or does it just make noise?

USB 1.1 connection

Does that mean the USB 2.0 version will pick up more shit?

The cleaner's overalls, thanks.

*Really*

"But do tell us: does it *really* suck or does it just make noise?"

Oh, it really, really sucks.

Hovermouse

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 17:24 GMT

Reverse the motor and make it a hovermouse...

might just work here

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 17:25 GMT

Joke

people are really messy at the office and ruin ball type mice all the time. Looks like this one is optical tho, so isn't as affected by crumbage.

with a little more power, though, might make an unusual VR accessory for online pr0n...eeew

recycle

eventually I could gather enough biscuit crumbs to make an entire biscuit again.

(in the event of an emergency food situation, which is almost always considering how little I can usually be bothered to get up and walk to the snack machine)

sucking while you work.

Paris Hilton

You want to get Bill Clinton's advise before doing that.

"mouse looks pretty normal"

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 17:47 GMT

Really? does it? please define "normal", Mr Sherwood.

Stop

"it lets you multi-task by sucking while you work" my boss perfected that trick YEARS ago...

Something completely useles thst sucks? What made me choose this icon?

Don't understand...

So, there's this new geek gadget that vacuums up all the crud, dust and crumbs left around your mouse mat...

Surely that's what the ball in a mouse is for?

I haven't taken me coat off yet...

It is for those of us that DO eat cookies!

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 18:23 GMT

Look, lots of people DO spill crumbs on the mouse pad. For those who are just too lazy to shake the mouse pad in the wastebasket, this could be quite ideal.

Of course, its performance with wet objects (spilled soda) might be troublesome. Especially since it can get quite "sticky".

Oh, well. As was said in a previous life: "Nothing sucks like a VAX".

I can see a use.......

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 18:40 GMT

Thumb Up

I can see a really good use for this...... My joint rolling has never been the tidiest of affairs with tobacco bits left on my comp desk after a roll..... If only I had that mouse ;-)

We need this why?

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 18:48 GMT

Paris Hilton

Now if it could make coffee fine, play music (gimic) fine but suck. Unless its supposed to suck some one who well "ahem"

Paris cause, well c'mon she's good at sucking

Hmmmmm

a device that looks like a giant sex toy.

Fingernail clipings ?

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 19:51 GMT

If your personal hygiene is so ikky that your mouse mat has nail clippings on it, a vacuum with a dust bag the size of a 20p is really not going to improve your prospects very much !

GATTACA

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 22:41 GMT

Hmm... Why are you trying to remove all of your DNA off the keyboard...

I can see it now....

Posted Monday 25th February 2008 23:35 GMT

Paris Hilton

a late evening of perving it up in a chat room, whilst consuming crisps, you decide to clean up your messy keyboard and send a load of llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll's to your online partner...

Imagine the HelpDesk calls

Posted Tuesday 26th February 2008 01:22 GMT

User - "Hello. This mouse doesn't work. I tried to suck the last sentence I typed off the screen and it just doesn't do it."

Worse still when the user does use it as intended, it'll be the IT department's responsibility to empty the bag.

Whiteboard marker scuzz

Posted Tuesday 26th February 2008 06:53 GMT

Thumb Up

I'd love one of these for work. My office has draconian security policies about proper disposal of paper notes, so the whole calll center uses miniature whiteboards in place of paper and pen for those moments you need to jot something down and take it over to someone else.

The result is constant writing/erasing/rewriting, which leaves these disgusting little black flakes of expended ink all over. I have to wipe my desk down twice a day to have it look halfway clean, and the opposite shift rarely returns the favor (and steals my markers to boot).

Unfortunately, that same security policy forbids personally owned mice and keyboards, so I'll have to go without...

okay..

Posted Tuesday 26th February 2008 07:49 GMT

i fail to see the point, its takeing convergence a step to far,

Unbearable....

Posted Tuesday 26th February 2008 08:53 GMT

Just imagine the noise in an office with a hundred or so of these going at any time, and how annoying would it be if the person on the next desk started vacuuming it while you were in the middle of a call?

Nah sorry, these cause too much noise pollution for use in a large office, so really would end up being nothing more than a "niche" product.

Mountain? Mohammed?

Why make a hoover out of a mouse when you can make a mouse out of a hoover? My USB mouse packed up a few days ago and, even at the peak of fitness, never helped tidy my desk.

I'm going to customise the cleaner's Henry vacuum cleaner (which must be about ten years old and to my knowledge has never broken down) so I can rid the office of all dust and paperwork within a ten yard radius whilst I work.
