Governments may have been denying the existence of aliens for decades, but Register Hardware knows they exist because they’ve landed on our doormat - quite literally.
Space Invaders are back
Yes, if you’re a devoted retro-gamer sick of all the talk about Wii-this, PS3-that and Xbox-t'other then a Space Invaders doormat is bound to show off your geek chic. A pressure sensor within the doormat makes an LED strip of the space-age critters light up.
The doormat’s powered by four AAA batteries that sit inside a cabled battery pack, which you must placed inside your house – for obvious reasons. If you really care about the quality of doormats then you’ll be glad to know this one measures 640 x 400mm and is made from industrial-grade rubberised plastic.
What’s more to say? It’ll clean vistors’ shoes before they enter your nerd palace of love and is available from online retailer (http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=2066&src_t=wnp) Firebox for £40 (€60/$80).
